Descriptive Information : The recall population was established by reviewing the installation process and determined the deficiency began occurring due to a change in Production personnel.

Description of the Defect : Units that do not have the heat shield installed; the subflooring material would be exposed to the heat produced by the generator.

Description of the Safety Risk : If the flooring was exposed to the heat produced by the generator for an
extended amount of time, it increases the potential for fire which could result in personal injury.
Description of the Cause : Due to employee turnover, we are attributing the root cause to deficiencies in internal training for new employees. Identification of Any Warning
that can Occur : The owner could potentially smell something burning.

4/22/2024 – Airstream identifies the error in the generator heat shield installation process. 4/22/2024 – Airstream begins investigation.
4/26/2024 – The safety committee reviews all known data and determines a recall is warranted. Airstream is unaware of any warranty or injury claims due to this non-compliance. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Airstream will provide it’s dealers with the parts and procedure to remedy
these units affected by the recall. This will be done at no cost to the owner. Reimbursement will follow the general reimbursement policy that is on file with NHTSA. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : The heatshield will be in place, mounted above the generator. The issue was corrected in production on April 22, 2024. Recall Schedule :
Description of Recall Schedule : Airstream has the utmost urgency in notifying owners about a recall that
affects their vehicle. Letters will be sent out once all pertinent information has been gathered.
