Summary
Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling one 2020 Commercial vehicle, equipped with a certain BraunAbility Wheelchair Lift. The outer barrier may deploy unexpectedly. As such, this vehicle fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 403, “Platform Lift Systems.”
Remedy
A dealers will relocate the ground sensing pressure switch, free of charge. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 for 1-800-537-1885.

Chronology :
On March 13,2024, Winnebago was notified by BraunAbility of a recall impacting certain model NULC65S32X60I lifts manufactured between December 9, 2021, and July 13, 2023.
After review, it was determined that there was one Winnebago customer impacted by this recall. That customer was contacted and the remedy was completed.
This notice of defect is being filed in accordance with 49 CFR 573 requirements.
There are no known incidents associated with this issue.

Description of Remedy Program : PerBraunAbility: The process of installing the pressure switch was
corrected in production starting 2/13/2024. A revised manufacturing instruction was approved and published to production on 2/13/2024.
Reimbursement requests will follow the general reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA.
How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Per BraunAbility: Relocation of the switch from after the cylinder flow control valves to before the cylinder flow valve. A certified dealer will handle repairs of all impacted lifts. Dealer will be paid through warranty for labor time to complete the necessary repair of each product. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : Per BraunAbility: The process of installing the pressure switch was corrected in production starting 2/13/2024.
