Summary
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024 Puma travel trailers. The amber side marker light may not have been installed on one side of the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”
Remedy
Dealers will install intermediate amber clearance lights, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 10, 2024. Owners may contact customer service at 1-574-642-0488. Forest River’s number for this recall is 425-1787.

Chronology :
On May 28, 2024, during a routine Corporate Standards Audit, it was discovered that the intermediate marker lamp was not present on the vehicle. The Corporate Standards Manager and the manufacturing plant notified Forest River’s Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) and a research item was opened. The manufacturing plant indicated that this lamp may not have been installed on this specific model.
On May 31, 2024, Forest River’s Corporate Recall Committee voted to recall.

2024 PUMA PUT23BHQ & PUT25BHS TRAVEL TRAILERS
Forest River has decided a non-compliance exists in certain 2024 Puma PUT23BHQ & PUT25BHS Travel Trailers. Recreational Vehicles. Forest River is recalling the defective model(s) to ensure the safety of our future retail consumers and your dealership. Forest River is issuing a Stop Sale Notice effective immediately.
Please access your Home Page on Dealer Connect to verify if your Dealership has units in stock that are subject to this recall. Enter the Service Campaign number referenced above in the “Campaign Search” field and click on the “Campaign ID Number”. Next, select “MY VINS”. Not all Dealers have units in stock that are affected by this recall.
DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE:
There may not be an amber intermediate clearance lamp installed on the road and curbside of the vehicle, which fails to meet F/CMVSS 108.
EVALUATION OF RISK:
The side marker lamps may not reflect light and be conspicuous to other motorists which may lead to a crash.

The remedy is under development. A second notice will be sent when the remedy is available.

Description of Remedy Program : Forest River will provide all parts and labor free of charge to Consumers
and Dealers. An authorized Forest River dealer will need to perform the remedy to install an intermediate amber clearance lamp.
