Insufficiently Tightened Brake Caliper Bolts
Loose brake caliper mounting bolts can reduce brake effectiveness, increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
Double K, Inc is recalling certain 2017-2019 Hometown Trolley Villager, Mainstreet, and Streetcar trackless trolley buses, built on a Daimler trucks
North America (DTNA) Freightliner chassis equipped with air disc brakes. The brake caliper mounting bolts on these vehicles may be insufficiently tightened, allowing the bolts to loosen.
Remedy
Double K will notify owners, instructing them to contact a DTNA dealer to have the brake caliper mounting bolts checked and tightened, free of charge. The recall began April 5, 2019. Owners may contact Double K customer service at 1-715-478-5095 or DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. Double K’s number for this recall is F772A-K.

Brake caliper mounting bolts may be inc0rectly torqued
Dear
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Highway Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Double K Inc. has been notified that a defect, which relates to motor vehicles safety, exists in a small number of model year 2017- 2018 Villager, Mainstreet and Streetcar model Trolleys, manufactured by Double K, Inc. dba Hometown Trolley.
During the production time periods of January 2017 through October 2018, trolleys vehicles Equipped with certain air disc brakes assembled from the York Manufacturing Plant with these brake caliper mounting bolts might be affected. Our records show that you own the vehicle (s) with the vehicle identification number This decision was based on the information that was provided to us by Daimler.
IMPORTANT!
- Your brake caliper mounting bolts might be incorrectly torqued.
- You should immediately contact your Daimler Trucks Facility for immediate repair.
The Safety issue is:
On certain vehicles, the brake caliper mounting bolts may be incorrectly torqued. This could result in caliper bolts loosening. A caliper with loose mounting bolts may lead to reduced effectiveness. Insufficiently torqued bots may not provide an adequate clamping force between the brake caliper bolts loosening. A caliper with loose mounting bolts may lead to reduced effectiveness. Insufficiently torqued bolts may not provide adequate clamping force between the brake caliper and brake anchor plate potentially resulting in reduced brake effectiveness. Reduced brake effectiveness could lead to a vehicle crash.
What we are asking you to do:
-Immediately locate and visually inspect the affected unit(s) in your fleet.
-Contact your Daimler Trucks North America authorized facility for repairs. Current owners to contact an authorized Daimler Trucks North America dealer to arrange to have the recall performed and to ensure that parts are available at the dealership. To locate an authorized dealer, search online at www.daimlertrucksnorthamerica.com. On the menu tab, select “contact” then scroll down to “find a dealer” and select the appropriate brand.
-Potentially affected vehicles will be inspected and the caliper bolts will be torqued as necessary. *Brake caliper mounting bolts will be checked and tightened, free of charge.
