Exit Window May be Blocked

In the event of an emergency, occupants may try to escape through the blocked window, but would not be able to, increasing their risk of injury.

Summary

Livin’ Lite Recreational Vehicles (Livin’ Lite) is recalling certain 2013-2017 Camplite and 2014-2017 Bearcat recreational trailers. One of the exit windows may be blocked by a manual awning arm.

 

Remedy

Livin’ Lite will notify owners, and dealers will remove the exit label and alter the window levers, free of charge. The recall began June 13, 2019. Owners may contact Livin’ Lite customer service at 1-800-768-4016 extension 154 or 153. Livin’ Lite’s number for this recall is LL-2019-01.

Problem

The vehicles subject to this recall were built with an awning arm that blocks a marked egress window.  In an emergency situation, the owner may attempt to use this window and could result in being unable to escape from the unit resulting in personal injury or death.

 

RANGE OF VEHICLES INVOLVED:

• 2014 – 2017 Camplite
• 2014 – 2017 Bearcat

 

WARRANTY REIMBURSEMENT:

A notice of this recall has been sent to affected retail owners. A copy of the Owner’s letter is included for your review. They may request that you complete the repair. If so, please follow the warranty reimbursement procedure. If the unit and/or units are in your inventory, or if you are requested to perform the repair for the retail customer, please complete the advised repair and send in a warranty claim referencing this recall number for reimbursement. The time allowed for repair is 15 minutes.

 

SERVICE ACTION:

Remove the “EXIT” label from the affected window and install black shrink wrap over the red handle.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. KZRV has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2014 – 2017 Livin’ Lite Camplite and Livin’ Lite Bearcat models. As a result, KZRV is conducting a safety recall.  We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause you; however your safety and continued satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us.

Reason for this recall	The vehicles subject to this recall were built with an awning arm that blocks a marked egress window.  In an emergency situation, the occupants may attempt to use this window and could result in being unable to escape from the unit resulting in personal injury or death.
What we will do	The remedy is to remove the “EXIT” label and install black shrink wrap over the red handle. The repair should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
What we need you to do	ou should contact your selling dealer immediately to schedule a service appointment to have the defect repaired in your vehicle.  If you have questions concerning this recall or if you need any assistance, please contact the KZRV Warranty/Service Department by mail at KZRV, L.P., 0985 N 900 W, Shipshewana, IN 46565, or by phone at (800)768-4016 ext. 154 or 153.If you had appropriate repairs completed prior to receipt of this recall notice, and if you incurred any direct cost in connection with obtaining such repair, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement from KZRV by contacting the KZRV Warranty/Service Department.
