Ground Wire May Short-Circuit and Cause Fire
A melted grounding wire may result in a short-circuit, increasing the risk of a fire in the engine compartment.

Summary
Corp. Micro Bird Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2019 MBII propane-powered vehicles equipped with a main battery cut-off switch. If the main battery cut-off switch is activated, the propane conversion controller grounding wire may melt.
Remedy
Micro Bird will notify owners and dealers will relocate the grounding, free of charge. The recall began August 6, 2019. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012, extension 364.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
What is being recalled?
Micro Bird has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in MBII models, built on Ford
chassis, year models 2019 propane-powered school buses manufactured between March 20th, 2019 and June 30th, 2019 and equipped with a main battery cut-off switch.
Why is it being recalled?
Micro Bird has determined that, in propane-powered vehicle equipped, as per supplier instructions, the propane conversion controller grounding wire is attached directly on the main battery ground post. When the vehicle is equipped with a main battery cut-off switch, if the main battery cut-off switch is activated, under certain conditions, the sleeve of the grounding wire may melt and cause failure to the propane module.
What is the safety issue?
If the sleeve of the grounding wire melts, a short circuit may happen, possibly causing a fire to ignite in the engine compartment.
What are we asking you to do?
- Immediately locate the affected unit(s) in your fleet and relocate the ground according to the attached instructions.
- For reimbursement, complete the reply sheet for each repaired vehicle and send it back to Micro Bird Corporation Inc. by fax at 819 475 9633 or by email at [email protected]. This will enable us to update our files
What Micro Bird Corporation will do?
Micro Bird Corporation is providing a field modification instruction to mitigate this recall at no charge. It will be the responsibility of the bus owners to execute the mitigation.
