Symptom:
- New design water pump is not compatible with Western Star chassis charging system alternator bracket.
Root Cause:
- Charging system alternator bracket is not compatible dimensionally with the new design water pump.
Verification
New water pump is not be able to be mounted with existing alternator bracket.
Resolution
A new Western Star charging system alternator bracke has been released that is compatible with the new water pump.
Service Instructions
New charging system alternator bracket must be ordered if new water pump is to be installed. See Table 1 below for part number information.
