| Cause | The engine cooling fan ring on Granite chassis built during model years 2016 through early 2020 may crack at its welds.
Analysis has revealed that the symptom occurs due to a lack of contact between the rubber seal attached to the fan ring and the fan shroud. This can lead to increased vibration of the fan ring, as the rubber seal serves as a vibration dampener as well as airflow direction. | |||||||||
| Solution | Affected date ranges: 2 June 2014 (W1423) – 24 June 2019 (W1921)
A new fan ring design has been released to address the vibration. The revised fan rings have been designed with a larger rubber seal that contacts the fan shroud and is able to effectively dampen vibration of the ring. Part numbers for the new fan ring design can be found below:
