Swing Arms May Swing Back to back of Dump Body
Separation of the pawl assembly and hub may cause the swing arms on the Easy Cover tarping system to unexpectedly swing to the back of the dump body, increasing the risk of crash.

Summary
Aero Industries, Inc. (Aero Industries) is recalling certain Easy Cover tarping systems. The spring return pin within the pawl assembly may have not been tack welded, allowing the pawl assembly to separate from the hub on the manual crank assembly.
Remedy
Aero Industries will notify owners and provide new pawl assemblies to the affected customers, free of charge. The recall began July 17, 2019. Owners may contact Aero Industries customer service at 1-800-535-7563. Aero Industries number for this recall is CAR #33852.

SAFETY RECALL NOTICE
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration – Recall Number: 19E033
This notice serves to satisfy the guidelines set forth by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Aero Industries has decided that a defect which relates to the Manual Crank exists in certain Easy Cover #200, #250, #300, #350, #400, #450, #465, #475, and #485 models.
IMPORTANT
- If your Easy Cover system was installed between November 11th, 2018, and April 19th, 2019. The Pawl Assembly (0311-960728) has been found to be defective inside your Manual Crank Assembly, and is being recalled.
- You should contact your Dealer, or Aero Industries to receive a Recall Retrofit Kit #0311-969101 shipped to you free of charge.
| Why is a recall being conducted? | The defect involves the Spring Return of the Pawl Assembly.
Under certain conditions the Spring Return Pin located on the Pawl Assembly can be dislodged causing the Return Spring to come loose from the Pawl Assembly. |
| What may cause the defect? | Due to excessive vibration, or shock. The Pin may become dislodged from Pawl Assembly. |
| What is Aero doing about the problem? | Aero Industries is offering Recall Retrofit Kit (#0311-969101) as a replacement for your defective Pawl Assembly. This Retrofit Kit will be provided at no cost to you. We ask that you review the documentation that will arrive in your Retrofit Kit prior to performing the actual retrofit.
