Tire Pressure Gauge May Read Low
If the user relies on the inaccurate pressure and continues to inflate the tire, the tire may burst due over-pressure, increasing the risk of an injury.

Summary
Stanley Assembly Technologies (SAT) is recalling certain MAC Tools DTG1000C, DTG1000, DTG1000B, DTG1000A, and DTG1014 tire pressure gauges sold exclusively though MAC independent dealers. The gauge may display a lower than actual pressure when the battery voltage is low.
Remedy
Signs will be posted in MAC trucks, and users will be compensated for each returned gauge. The recall began on October 14, 2019. Owners may contact SAT customer service at 1-614-876-3809.

IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL
Dear Mac Tools Distributor:
Stanley Industrial & Automotive, LLC, through its Mac Tools division (“Mac Tools”), has determined that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Mac Tools tire pressure gauges.
Specifically, Mac Tools has discovered that the accuracy of our digital tire gauges degrades as battery voltage declines. If the user does not replace the batteries when the low battery power icon is shown on the display, the pressure shown on the gauge will be lower than the actual pressure. If the user continues to inflate the tire, it may burst due to over-pressure, which could result in personal injury.
The affected gauges bear Model Numbers DTG1000, DTG1000A, DTG1000B, DTG1000C, and DTG1014.
According to our records, you may have sold one or more of the affected units. It is important that all owners of the recalled products be notified of the recall. Mac Tools has prepared an owner notification letter (attached to this notice), which has been approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”). This letter is to be given to all customers who have purchased the above Model Numbers.
Customers who have purchased any of the items listed above are asked to return the item for credit. Distributors can then return credited items to Mac Tools using a Warranty MRA and receive credit for each one returned. Shipping expense credit will be issued monthly for all returns received the previous month in the amount of $12 US.
Unsold units can also be returned on a Warranty MRA and you will receive return shipping reimbursement as described.
Mac Tools has prepared a notice with information about the recall that we would like you to display on your trucks. The attached notice is available in PDF form and can be printed and displayed.
IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW TO SELL OR DELIVER A NEW OR USED ITEM OF EQUIPMENT COVERED BY THIS NOTIFICATION.

According to our records, you may have purchased one or more of the affected units. Please check your unit to see if it covered by this recall.
Model Numbers listed above should be returned to your Mac Tools Distributor for purchase price credit that can be used towards the purchase of other items. If you do not have a Distributor, contact Mac Tools Customer Service at 1.800.MAC. TOOLs for directions on how to return your digital tire gauge and your credit.
We recommend that you check all tires that may have been pressurized with a covered pressure gauge while the low battery icon was flashing to ensure that they were properly pressurized.
