Summary
Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Reflection and Imagine travel trailers equipped with a Smart-Jack model power tongue jack. The laminated plastic touch pad on the jack may crack or separate allowing water to enter, potentially causing the jack to operate unintentionally.
Remedy
Grand Design will notify owners, and dealers will replace the power tongue jack, free of charge. The recall began on December 29, 2017. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design’s number for this recall is 900012.

Grand Design RV and Lippert Components, Inc. has decided that a safety defect exists in certain 2017-2018 Reflection and Imagine travel trailer vehicles. Accordingly, a recall to address this issue is being initiated effective December 29, 2017.
The defect involves Reflection & Imagine Travel Trailers manufactured between January 31, 2017 and August 25, 2017. VIN range of affected units is; Reflection-573TR3627H3312557 through 573TR3427J3315600 (non-sequential); Imagine-573TE272XH6600754 through 573TE3320J6603924 & 573TE2726J5500002 through 573TE2728J5500146 (sequential).
On affected vehicles, the power tongue jack may extend or retract on its own if the laminated plastic touch-pad is cracked or separated and water intrusion to the electronic control board were to occur. If jack extension were to occur while the trailer is under tow, the potential exists for a loss of vehicle control and/or crash. Repair involves replacing the power tongue jack with an updated version that incorporates circuit protection against water intrusion. The updated power tongue jacks are in stock and available for immediate shipment.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified of this recall by mail from Grand Design RV. A copy of the Owner Notification Letter is attached for your reference. Also attached is a list of your retail sold and stock units affected by this recall. Finally, please find attached the repair and claim filing instructions associated with this recall action.
Please be reminded that it is a violation of Federal Law for you to sell or lease the products covered by this notification until repair under this recall has been performed. Substantial civil penalties apply to violations of this law. Your assistance with this recall is appreciated.
