Summary
Freedman Seating Company (Freedman) is recalling certain 2pl GO-ES 3pt Foldaway Seat Assemblies, part numbers 43705, 45467, 26400, and 26401. The seat belt retractor block out zone may have not been set correctly, potentially resulting in a seat belt that may not properly secure the occupant. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209, “Seat Belt Assemblies.”
Remedy
Freedman will notify the vehicle manufacturers that purchased the seats, and dealers for those companies will replace the retractors, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Freedman customer service at 1-800-443-4540.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of 49 CFR 577.13.
Freedman Seating Company (FSC) has determined the 3PT Foldaway and GO-ES 3-point Foldaway manufactured between August 2019 and January 2020 may have a defect which may increase the risk of occupant injury in the event of a vehicle collision. These seats may have been manufactured using seat belt retractors supplied to us that may not be compliant to FMVSS 209.
Upon receipt of this Recall Notice, FSC is requesting you provide notification of this Safety Recall of the subject seats to your Dealer and Customer/Owner.
To correct this condition, FSC will facilitate the inspection and any necessary repairs. Videos illustrating the inspection can be found here:

After seat inspection the customer must complete the form found in the above link. It is important to complete the form whether the seat belt retractors were found compliant or not. If the seat belt retractor(s) were found defective, we will send you replacement(s) using the information submitted via the online form.
Replacing the retractors on the 3PT Foldaway is expected to take 30 minutes per seat and 15 minutes for the GO-ES 3-point Foldaway. FSC will reimburse the cost of repairs related to this recall including parts and labor. The reimbursement will be $50/belt for the 3pt and $25.00/belt for the GO-ES.
Upon completion of the recall repair work the Customer must file a claim with FSC Customer Service for reimbursement referencing FSC Recall #20E004 on the claim.

Should you have any vehicle(s) in inventory that require recall repair work please make certain these vehicles are corrected prior to sale. FMVSS 577.13 states it is a violation of Federal law for a manufacturer/dealer to deliver a new motor vehicle covered by this notification under sale or lease until the defect is remedied.

FMS Seating has determined the Eleganza Collection Foldaways, the 325 Foldaway and the 315 seat manufactured between August 2019 and January 2020 may have a defect which may increase the risk of occupant injury in the event of a vehicle collision. These seats may have been manufactured using seat belt retractors supplied to us that may not be compliant to FMVSS 209. In addition, if you were sent our 33354 seat belt retractor as a replacement part during the same timeframe this retractor also may not be compliant.
Upon receipt of this Recall Notice, FMS is requesting you provide notification of this Safety Recall of the subject seats to your Dealer and Customer/Owner.
