Summary
American Custom Golf Cars (ACG) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Moke vehicles. These vehicles may have been built with windshields that do not have laminated glazing. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, “Glazing Materials,” and number 500, “Low Speed Vehicles.”
Remedy
ACG will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the windshield, replacing any that are not properly labeled AS-1 windshields, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 2018. Owners may contact ACG customer service at 1-909-597-2885. ACG’s number for this recall is ACG-RC2018-01.

Dear ACG vehicle owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
ACG, Inc. has decided that certain 2016 – 2017 Model Year MOKE LSVs, fail to comply to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 205 “Glazing Materials” and No. 500 “Low Speed Vehicles”.

Why is a recall being conducted?
Your 2016 or 2017 ACG MOKE LSV may have noncompliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 205 and No. 500, because a windshield of incorrect glazing composition (tempered glass) may have been installed rather than the required windshield constructed of laminated safety glazing.
In the event of crash, if the incorrect non-laminated windshield glass shatters, it can increase the risk of injury.
What are we doing about the problem?
Your ACG vehicle dealer will inspect the vehicle free of charge. If windshield replacement is determined to be required, it will be replaced free of charge in about two hours, and your vehicle can be driven immediately after the replacement is completed.
