Summary
Tex Trail Trailer Parts (Tex Trail) is recalling certain Towking
12K Top Wind Jacks. The standard nut used to hold the handle sleeve in place may loosen, allowing the jack handle to separate from the jack assembly.
Remedy
Tex Trail will replace the standard nut with a nylon nut. Tex Trail only sold to dealers and not end users. Tex Trail will begin notifying dealers February 27, 2020. The recall began March 4, 2020. Owners may contact Tex Trail customer service at 1-903-575-0547.

Involving: TOWKING branded 12K jacks
TexTrail, Inc., d/b/a TexTrail Trailer Parts (TexTrail), has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in the certain TOWKING 12k Jacks sold by TexTrail. The TOWKING jack manufacturer’s bill of materials specifies that the jack handle be held in place with a 6mm, grade 5 bolt and fastened with a nylon locking nut, however, the nut used to fasten the bolt handle sleeve to the jack was a standard nut, not a nylon locking nut as required by the specifications. A failure of the nut could cause the bolt sleeve to slip out of position and allow the jack handle to separate from the jack assembly, allowing the foot of the jack to drop to the pavement.
Owners will be notified by mail about the recall and will be provided with the required replacement nylon nut and replacement instructions. There is no cost to owners for this recall. Dealer should immediately notify TexTrail of the name and address of each person or entity to whom the Dealer has sold or delivered one of the affected jacks.
Important: Some of the involved jacks may still be in your inventory. Our records indicate you were shipped at least one of the affected jacks. Please verify purchaser information for each jack and provide that information to TexTrail, Inc. as soon as possible. The requested information should be directed to TexTrail, Inc., ATTN: Jeremy Deaton or Tammy Pierce, Import Department, 2330 CR 3210, Mt. Pleasant, Texas 75455, (903) 575-9288. Federal law requires you to complete the recall service on those jacks still in your inventory before retail delivery.

Instructions regarding the repair of the defective jacks is outlined in the attached Nylon Nut Replacement Service Bulletin. Replacement parts are also included with this notice.
You are being provided with a Repair Confirmation Form, which you are requested to complete for each jack repair you complete. Upon completion of the necessary repair, you are required to return the completed Repair Confirmation Form to TexTrail, Inc. d/b/a TexTrail Trailer Parts via email to tammy.pierce@textrail.com or [email protected] and upon receipt of the completed Repair Confirmation Form to TexTrail, you will be reimbursed for the repairs performed. TexTrail estimates it will take approximately one-half (1/2) hour to complete the necessary repair.
If you have mailing information for the customer who purchased the Tow King Jack, please send us their name and mailing address and we will send them the letter, or if you prefer you can forward them a copy of this letter.
Please be reminded that it is a violation of Federal law for you to sell any of the affected jacks covered by this notification until this recall has been performed on the affected jacks. Substantial civil penalties apply to violations of this law.
