1. Daily Preventive
Maintenance
1.1. Fire Suppression & Gas Detection
System
Confirm proper operation of the Fire Suppression
& Gas Detection display panel.
Ensure that the green “SYSTEM OK” LED
indicators are illuminated for both the fire
detection and methane detection systems
and that the orange “SERVICE
REQUIRED” LED indicators are not illuminated.
Test the audible alarm for each system
by pressing and holding the
appropriate button for four seconds.
2. Weekly Preventive
Maintenance
2.1. Fire Suppression & Gas Detection
System
Visually inspect the fire suppression and
gas detection components, located within
the engine, HVAC, and rooftop compartments,
for damage. Ensure that all distribution
lines, nozzles, gas sensors, detection
tubes, and electrical connectors are intact
and securely mounted.
3. Six Month Preventive
Maintenance
3.1. Fire Suppression System
Inspect the fire suppression system every
six months in accordance with Fogmaker
control plan for semi-annual service. Refer
to Fogmaker North America Service Manual
8011-002 for inspection requirements.
3.2. Gas Detection System
Inspect the gas detection system every six
months as follows:
DO NOT expose gas sensors to liquids
or chemicals. Harsh chemicals may
damage the sensors. When cleaning in
the area of the sensors, cover the sensor
with a plastic bag and keep the sensor
sealed until the compartment has
been completely ventilated.
❒ Examine the sensors for contamination or
damage.
❒ Check that sensor wires are not frayed,
pinched, or cut.
❒ Test the operation of the display panel and
gas sensors using Fogmaker test kit #FMUS-
400035. Refer to Fogmaker Methane
Detector Test Procedure for test instructions.
4. Five Year Preventive
Maintenance
4.1. Fire Suppression System
Every five years, drain and refill the fire
suppression system extinguisher cylinder.
Refer to Fogmaker Manual No. 8015-002
for drain and refill procedure. This manual
has been supplied with this bus build.
Observe all required cautions and warnings
when performing procedure.
5. Ten Year Preventive
Maintenance
5.1. Fire Suppression System
Every ten years, send the fire suppression
system extinguisher cylinder to Fogmaker
North America for cylinder rebuild.
