1. Cooling System Hose
Clamps
DO NOT work on the cooling system if
the engine is hot. Hot engine coolant is
under pressure and can cause scalding
burns if filler caps are opened or lines
are disconnected. ALWAYS allow time
for the coolant temperatures and pressure
to drop before servicing the system
1.1. Description
To provide a non leak connection, Venair
hoses which are metric hoses, are used at
critical areas to produce an interference fit
with the metal tubes when assembled,
1.2. Operation
When servicing the cooling system, ensure
that clamps are replaced with the same
style of clamp or that the replacement
clamp is of the correct size for the application.
Hoses are installed with an interference
fit, which needs a water based
lubricant applied at the fit point to aid in
connecting to the mating component See
