Utility Compartment Door Latch May Become Locked
A locked utility compartment prevents access to the liquid propane (LP) shutoff valve. In the event of a propane leak at the regulator, this may increase the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

Summary
Triple E Recreational Vehicles (Triple E) is recalling certain 2020 Unity travel trailers, model U24RL. The utility compartment’s inner latch mechanism may rotate due to vehicle motion, becoming locked.
Remedy
Triple E will notify owners, and dealers will repair the utility compartment latch mechanism, free of charge. This recall began June 2, 2020. Owners may contact Triple E customer service at 1-877-992-9906. Triple E’s number for this recall is CA#9681-1.

Tools required:
1. Hot Glue Gun
2. Flat Screw Driver
3. Small Flat Screw Driver

Using a small flat screw driver, carefully pry out the center plug.

Plug removed.

Mechanism inside latch.

Using a flat screw driver, turn the mechanism all the way counter clockwise. Ensure latch is not locked.

Place a drop of hot glue in the middle of the mechanism to prevent it from rotating.

Mechanism filled with hot glue.

Reinstall plug and test latch operation.
9
Repeat steps 2-8 for second latch on door if equipped.

This notice is sent to ou in accordance with the re uirements of the National Traffic & Motor Vehicle Safet Act. Tri le E Recreational Vehicles has decided that certain 2020 Unit U24RL motorhomes manufactured between August 25, 2019 & May 15, 2020 fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard
Description of Safety Defect:
The inner mechanism of the latch for the utility compartment may become locked with the motion and/or sway of the motorhome. In the situation where the latch on the utility compartment locks and there is an LP leak at the regulator and you need to shut off the LP valve, you will not be able to access the valve because this is a sealed compartment. If there were an LP leak a possible spark could ignite and cause a fire, which could cause bodily injury.
To Have This Modification Performed:
We request your assistance to have this Safety issue corrected. Please follow the included SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) to perform the recall. For reimbursement submit a warranty application form.
Labour to perform this Recall: 0.4 hrs/ unit
