Summary
American Hauler is recalling certain 2018 Air-Lite, Arrow, Falcon/XC and Night Hawk cargo trailers equipped with Dexter
D52 axles. The axles of these trailers may have spindle weld failures.
Remedy
American Hauler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the axles and replace them if necessary, free of charge. Owners may contact Dexter Axle at 574-295-7888.

This Notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the United States National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
REASON FOR THE RECALL
American Cargo Group has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2018 Air-Lite, Arrow, Falcon/XC and Night Hawk cargo trailers equipped with Dexter D52 axles. Our records indicate that your vehicle is included in the affected population of vehicles.
On or about March 2020 Dexter Axle notified American Cargo Group, that they were issuing a voluntary recall on their D52 Axle Model sold to us between July 2018 and Aug. 2018. There is a potential spindle weld failure which could cause the axle to fall off and result in personal injury, property damage or both.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO
Observe the axle serial number engraved into the back of the axle tube. The axle serial number will be a 9-digit number. If the axle serial number is 133158559, the axle is considered suspect and will need to be replaced.
If your inspection is complete and the axles inspected are not part of the suspect serial number, you may submit an invoice to Dexter for the inspection and processing time. For immediate processing of your recall inspection, please send a copy of your invoice [email protected]. The following information will be required on your invoice:
1) Submitter contact information
2) Inspected unit VIN number
3) Dexter Axle Serial Number(s)
