Slew Bearing Bolts Incorrectly Tightened
The loose bearing may affect the stability of the lift, increasing the risk of personal injury.

Summary
Genie Industries, Inc. (Genie) is recalling certain 2020 TZ-34 and TZ-50 trailer mounted boom lifts. The bolts that connect the slew turntable bearing to the chassis may have been under tightened.
Remedy
Genie will notify owners, and Genie technicians will properly tighten the slew bearing bolts, free of charge. The recall began October 28, 2020. Owners may contact Genie customer service at 1-800-536-1800. Genie’s number for this recall is Issue 240.

Re: 20V-V637 – Slew Bearing Bolts Incorrectly Tightened (TZ-34 and TZ-50)
To whom it may concern
Terex became aware of the issue in August 5, 2020 when a Team Member noticed there were errors in the data which indicates improper torqued joints. It was found out that the tool was not connected to the Andon system. The Team then inspected all of the units in inventory, and no loose fasteners were found. However, there were 8 units that were produced from July 28 to August 12, 2020 that were shipped to two Genie dealers. After further evaluation, it was concluded that a safety defect exist on October 13.
Terex immediately contacted the dealers of the affected machines and scheduled the repair to these machines. Repair was completed on all eight machines on October 28.
Since the repair is already completed on all affected machines, Terex is petitioning to exempt this issue from recall requirements.
