INSTRUCTIONS for remedy that requires Parts Kit 20V-667A

  1. Remove the passenger seat to gain better access to the engine cover. To remove the seat, remove the (4) bolts on the seat pedestal using a 2-7/16” wrench.

There are (2) bolts on each side of the pedestal.

  1. Loosen the engine console valance to gain access to the console fasteners by removing the screws on the valance. Next:
  • Remove the screws securing the engine cover.
  • Remove the engine cover.

  1. Turn the engine cover over.

  1. Using the flat blade screwdriver, remove the bonded flange and seal from the bottom of the cover.

  1. Insert the foam insert into the cover. Install the seal to the foam on the outer edge.

  1. Reinstall the engine cover, the console valance and the passenger seat.

Secure the passenger seat to the pedestal with NEW bolts (4) and torque each to 20ft/lbs.

INSTRUCTIONS for remedy that requires Parts Kit  20V-667B

  1. Park the motorhome so that the front tire(s) turn slightly outward, towards the driver’s side. This will allow easier access to the floorboard panel under the unit. Make sure the emergency brake is applied and/or block the tires so the unit cannot roll or move.

  1. Locate the floorboard panel under the unit (next to the engine). There may be a silver insulation insert in the one side of the panel

  1. You will need to remove a cable and a line of conduit running across the floorboard panel so that you are able to install the foam insert(s). Using a screw gun and 10mm socket driver, remove the screws that are holding the cable bracket in place.  You may need the 10mm open end wrench to hold the screw cap in place while removing the screw.  Let both lines drop; you will re-install these in a later step. Discard the screws.

  1. Prepare the floorboard compartments to facilitate an easier install of the foam insert.

a. Use a putty knife and scrape off all excess foam inside the compartment(s).

b. Use a small hacksaw or cutting tool to remove any screws protruding through the floorboard. This will create a smooth surface for the foam insert installation.

Bracket and Foam Installation Configuration

  1. Using the self-tapping screws, install the (2) 2.31“x 3.0” brackets on the inside of the floorboard pan (side closest to the engine) using the pre-drilled holes in the bracket. The bracket “lip” should be installed towards the inside of the pan (this will hold the foam insert in place).   Install (1) bracket on each side of the indentation in the floorboard pan.  The top of the bracket should be against the top of the pan.

  1. Install the 29.5” foam into the floorboard pan. The (2) brackets you just installed will secure the one side of the foam insert.  Before installing the insert, make sure the angles and notch are in the right place according to the shape of the pan.

  1. Using the self-tapping screws, install the 2.31” x 20.0” center bracket (bracket 2 in the diagram) using the pre-drilled holes. Inure the bracket is centered in the middle of the pan frame. The bracket lip will secure the edge of both foam inserts.

  1. Install the 22.75” foam insert in the other side of the floorboard pan, taking note of angles before putting the insert in place.

  1. Using the self-drilling/tapping screws, install the 2” x 20” bracket (bracket 3 in the diagram) using the pre-drilled holes. Make sure you center the bracket correctly onto the floorboard pan frame so the screws go into the metal and not the foam. When the brackets are in proper position they will securely supports the foam insert.

  1. Re-install the cable and the line of conduit using the supplied self-drilling/tapping screws. You can install the cable through the center bracket. Install the conduit line in the last bracket added.
