Summary
Arcimoto Inc (Arcimoto) is recalling certain 2019-2021 FUV, 2020 Deliverator, 2021 Rapid Responder motorcycles. The seat belt retractor spool sleeve may be cracked, allowing broken pieces to block the seat belt from retracting.
Remedy
A service technician will replace the seat belt retractor, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on June 22, 2021. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed July 1, 2021. Owners may contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293.

This notice is being sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Arcimoto has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2019, 2020, and 2021 model year FUVs, Deliverators, and Rapid Responder. The remedy is not available. Once the remedy is available, you will receive a second owner notification asking you to bring your vehicle in for repair.

Why is your vehicle being recalled?
This letter serves as an interim notice that Arcimoto will be sending out an official recall notice to replace seat belts. There are reports of seat belts not retracting properly, rattling noise in the retractor, and broken plastic pieces. Since seat belts are a critical safety system and compose the vehicle’s safety restraint system, a seat belt failure increases the risk of injury in the event of an accident.
However, while Arcimoto works on the root cause of the defect, we are asking every vehicle owner involved in this recall to have their seat belts inspected by an Arcimoto technician.
What will we do?
Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to contact Arcimoto to schedule a service appointment to have their seat belts inspected and replaced if necessary, free of charge.
