Summary
Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. (KME) is recalling certain 2012-2021 KME Custom Chassis. The sealing washer may not seat correctly in the pilot bore holes, allowing the high pressure fuel rail assembly to leak.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the rail threads, and replace the rail as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 2, 2021. Owners may contact KME customer service at 1-800-235-3928.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Why is a recall being conducted?
KME decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model year 2012-2021 KME vehicles manufactured from September 2011 through March 2021.
Vehicles included in this recall have an engine fuel rail assembly that may develop leaks, which may result in an undetected prolonged diesel fuel spray. A leak involving spraying/misting fuel in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.
What are we doing about the problem?
Cummins
will repair the fuel rail assembly. There is no cost to the vehicle owner for the recall remedy.
What should you do?
Please contact your local Cummins Service Center to perform the remedy. You may contact Cummins customer service at (800) 286-6467.
