Summary
Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2018 Keystone Carbon and Raptor recreational fifth-wheel trailers. These vehicles were manufactured without a protective barrier in the fuel station to prevent fuel absorption in the main floor.
Remedy
Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the trailers and install a protective barrier is present, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began on April 24, 2018. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone’s number for this recall is 18-317.

Raptor/Carbon Fuel Station Metal
Keystone is conducting a voluntary RECALL notification campaign in accordance with the National Highway Transportation and Safety Act. It has been decided that the vehicles in the recall population may have been produced without a protective barrier in the fuel station to prevent absorption of fuel into the main floor. If fuel spillage occurs there is an increased risk of the main floor absorbing flammable liquids. In the presence of an ignition source there is an increased risk of fire or personal injury.

Note – Check serial number on Key Express to verify the campaign is open. Some vehicles were repaired before they left Keystone.
When performing warranty or recall service, please make certain that appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used.
The remedy is to open the fuel station and inspect for metal on the ceiling of the compartment. If there is fabric underbelly material and no metal, install a piece of metal as a barrier.
REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Locate the trailer on a level, flat, hard surface. Chock the wheels.
Step 2
Locate the fuel station, open the door and inspect the compartment for the metal barrier attached to the bottom of the main floor by visually inspecting and feeling the barrier to see if it is metal or fabric. If there is a metal barrier installed, proceed to Warranty Reimbursement and submit a claim for inspection.
Step 3
If the barrier is not present, order or obtain locally a 12”x28” piece of thin metal (like skirt metal), KRV #601874. Place the metal in the compartment attaching it to the bottom of the main floor, using 2 screws in the back of the compartment evenly spaced and 3 screws in the front of the compartment evenly spaced.
Step 4
Use black silicone to seal all 4 edges of the metal so that the bottom of the main floor is completely sealed. Proceed to Warranty Reimbursement.

Keystone RV Company has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model 2018 Keystone Raptor and Carbon Fifth Wheels. As a result, Keystone RV is conducting a safety recall. We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause you; however your safety and continued satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us.
| Reason for this recall | It has been decided that the vehicles in the recall population may have been produced without a protective barrier in the fuel station to prevent absorption of fuel into the main floor. If fuel spillage occurs there is an increased risk of the main floor absorbing flammable liquids. In the presence of an ignition source there is an increased risk of fire or personal injury. |
| What we will do | Keystone representatives have been in contact with the staff at your selling dealership regarding this situation. The remedy is to inspect for the protective barrier, if the protective barrier is missing, one will need to be installed as directed. The service and parts required for this corrective action will be provided at no charge to you. |
| What we need you to do | As soon as possible, please make an appointment to have your RV serviced by your dealership. The labor time to perform this correction is approximately 1 hour. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much additional time will be needed to schedule and process your RV for this repair. |
| If you have questions | Your dealer is best equipped to obtain parts and provide service to ensure your RV is corrected as promptly as possible. Please contact Keystone Customer service if your dealer is unable to assist or if you take your RV to your dealer on the agreed service date, and the dealer does not remedy the condition within a reasonable amount of time, or without charge to you.
