PACCAR received NHTSA’s notice regarding missing information in recall 21V-391.
The notice requests a written explanation for owner notification letters that
appeared to have been issued late, past the 60th day after the 573 report was filed.
This recall is an engine recall that Cummins is managing under equipment recall
number 21E-032. Cummins timely mailed the customer notification letters and
uploaded them under its recall 21E-032. We requested copies and uploaded a
duplicate letter under our recall 21V-391.

repair procedure is now available. Cummins PX9 and ISX12 fuel rails may leak around a sealing washer, potentially
resulting in fuel leaks. Undetected prolonged diesel fuel spray in the presence of an ignition source may increase
the risk of fire. The fuel rail assembly will be inspected and, if necessary, repaired or replaced.
Introduction
Cummins Inc has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model 567, 520, 367,
365, 348 and 337 vehicles manufactured from 01/16/2017 through 09/15/2020 with Cummins PX9 and ISX12
engines.
Cummins PX9 and ISX12 fuel rails may leak around a sealing washer, potentially resulting in fuel leaks.
The fuel rails may have undersized pilot bores for the sealing washer, thus preventing the washer from sealing
properly. Undetected prolonged diesel fuel spray in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.
Resolution
Safety Recall
Go to Cummins QuickServe and refer to the Cummins Recall – C2423.
Service all chassis affected that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis.
1. Review the attached chassis list for your dealer code and schedule your customer(s) for service if their
chassis is on the list.
2. If you are not using Service Management to start repair orders, review SIR for “Complete” or “In Process”
next to the “C2423” Cummins campaign code prior to performing this repair.
3. Follow the procedures in Cummins C2423 Safety Recall to inspect and, if necessary, repair or replace the
fuel rail assembly.
Federal Law
It is a violation of Federal law for a dealer to sell or lease new vehicles covered by this recall until the defect or
noncompliance has been corrected.

Go to Cummins QuickServe and refer to the Cummins Recall – C2423. File warranty claims through the Cummins
warranty system.
SIR will indicate chassis involved in this recall with the designator of “C2423” in the campaign field.
