Metal Junction Box Grounding Instructions
1. Disconnect unit from the 120V power source
2. Locate metal junction box with a GFCI receptacle at the kitchen.
3. Remove faceplate and receptacle (Fig. 1) to expose wires.

4. Install and secure a separate bare ground wire of sufficient length at the green ground screw (Blue Arrow) in the metal junction box (fig 2).
5. Connect all ground wires together with green wire nut. Ensure the bare ground wire attached to the box passes through the hole in the top of the green wire nut (fig 3).
6. Connect the bare ground wire coming through the top of the wire nut to the green ground screw (Green Arrow) on the GFCI receptacle (fig 4).
7. Insert wires back into the metal junction box.
8. Secure GFCI receptacle and outlet face plate to junction box.
9. Turn power back on and validate function of the GFCI receptacle.
10. Repair is complete.

Dear Valued Customer:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Jayco has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2021, White Hawk travel trailers.
Metallic electrical boxes may not be grounded. An ungrounded metallic electrical box can pose an undue risk of shock or electrocution if the box would become energized, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy consists of adding a bare copper grounding conductor to the metallic electrical box with either a listed green ground screw or grounding clip. The remedy is free of charge and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Please contact a Jayco certified repair facility and schedule an appointment for this remedy.
Federal regulations require that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days.
If you had this repair completed prior to receipt of this recall notice, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for the cost of obtaining a pre-notification remedy of the problem associated with this recall.
If you take your recreational vehicle to your dealer on the agreed service date and the dealer does not remedy this condition on that date or within three (3) days, please contact our Customer Service Department at 800-283-8267. If you are unable to get this safety defect remedied without charge and/or within a reasonable amount of time after contacting your dealer and Jayco customer service, you may want to contact NHTSA.
