High Pressure Fuel Rail Assembly May Leak Fuel
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Summary
SVI Trucks is recalling certain 2017-2021 Rescue Truck vehicles. The sealing washer may not seat correctly in the pilot bore holes, allowing the high pressure fuel rail assembly to leak.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the rail threads and fuel lines, and replace the rail as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 30, 2021. Owners may contact SVI Truck customer service at 1-888-784-1112.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. SVI has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2017 through 2021 model year Gladiator, MetroStar, MetroStarX, Freightliner
and Kenworth model chassis cabs equipped with either a Cummins L9 or Cummins X12 engine. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS). We urge you to have the free repair performed at your Cummins authorized service center as soon as possible.

What is the Issue?
SVI has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2017 through 2021 model year Gladiator, MetroStar, MetroStarX, Freightliner and Kenworth model chassis cabs equipped with either a Cummins L9 or Cummins X12 engine.
On the affected vehicles, the fuel rail assembly may develop leaks, which may result in an undetected prolonged diesel fuel spray.
A leak involving spraying/misting fuel in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire. The operator may see or smell diesel fuel. In some cases, the check engine lamp may illuminate.
What Are We Asking You To Do?
Cummins will instruct you to take your vehicle to a Cummins authorized service center to inspect the fuel rail. If damage is found, the fuel rail and fuel lines will be replaced. If no damage is found, the fuel rail will be reassembled with new crush washers using a special tool. There is no cost to the vehicle owner for the recall remedy.
