Summary
Shyft Group is recalling certain 2021-2022 Spartan RV Chassis K2 vehicles equipped with Cummins L9 Diesel Engines that have remote Stage 2 fuel filters and pressurized hoses. A fuel leak may occur from the fuel hose between the fuel pump and the remote fuel filter head.
Remedy
Cummins will replace the fuel hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 14, 2021. Owners may contact Shyft Group’s customer service at 1-800-582-3454. Shyft Group’s number for this recall is 21-18.

This notice applies to the vehicle identification number in the label below.
Dear Valued Customer,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
The Shyft Group, Inc. has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2021 through 2022 model year K2 and K3 model Spartan RV chassis equipped with a remote mount fuel filter supplied by Cummins, Inc.
What is the Defect?
A fuel leak may occur in the fuel hoses between the fuel pump and the remote fuel filter head.
What is the Safety Risk?
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.
What is the Warning?
Persons operating in or around the vehicle may see smoke before sufficient heat creates a fire.
What is the Remedy?
Cummins has released field Safety Campaign #C2465 to correct this condition by replacing the subject fuel lines with fuel lines of a new design. This campaign is currently available at Cummins Distributors and authorized Warranty Dealers. The repair will be completed free of charge and most applications will require approximately 2 hours to complete.
