Summary
Dorel Juvenile Group (Dorel) is recalling certain Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 Convertible child seats. When the seat is installed in the forward facing position and secured to the car using the lap belt without also using the top tether, the seat may not adequately protect the child from head injury in the event of a crash. As such, these child seats fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 213, “Child Restraint Systems.”
Remedy
No remedy has been established at this time. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 18, 2021. Owners may contact Dorel customer service at 1-877-657-9546 or by email at [email protected].

Dear Valued Retailer,
Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc. (DJG US) is preparing to conduct a voluntary safety recall of certain Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 car seats, designed for use for children weighing 9 to 70 pounds. When the seat is installed in the forward-facing position and secured to the vehicle using the lap belt without also using the top tether, the seat may not adequately protect the child from head injury in the event of a crash. There have been no injuries or incidents reported related to this condition. Using this car seat in both the rear facing mode and forward-facing modes for children up to 65 pounds is certified for use with all labeled installation methods.
The item #s impacted by this recall are Pria 70:
CC133BGW, CC133BWI, CC133BWJI, CC133DCHI, CC133DCN.
The scope of the recall includes manufacture dates between January 1, 2019 and July 31, 2019. DJG US and NHTSA continue to work together toward a remedy for consumers.
