Summary
Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Allegro Breeze, Allegro Red, Allegro, Allegro Bus, Phaeton, and 2018-2021 Zephyr recreational vehicles. The sofa seat belts may not have been installed correctly, which could result in unsecured passengers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, “Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages.”
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and repair the seat belts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 29, 2021. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin’s number for this recall is TIF-118.

Inspection Instructions/Procedure:
1. Find the Seat Belt Recall drawing that corresponds to the model and floorplan.
2. Look behind the sofa(s) to inspect the mounting of the seat belts to the floor. If you are not able to visually see where the seat belts are mounted to the floor, you may have to remove the sofa(s) to access the location of the seat belts where they are mounted to the floor.
3. Seat belts consist of two parts: tongue and buckle. Check if each seat belt is connected by two separate brackets/bolts, with tongue on one side and buckle on other. If each seat belt is connected by two separate brackets/bolts (Figure 1), no further action is needed. If any seat belt is connected to same bracket/bolt on both ends (Figure 2), it is incorrectly installed, and proceed with the repair instructions.
Repair Instructions/Procedure:
1. Find all bolts as specified by Seat Belt Recall drawings either by measuring or using a magnet. All bolts should be connected to a bracket. Some brackets may be hidden under the carpet. Ensure all bolts are secured in a threaded hole.
2. Determine which seat belts are installed incorrectly. There will be brackets that hold both a buckle and tongue, but are not the same seat belt. Make sure the buckle and tongue are the same seat belt before removing it. Figure 3 shows an example of a buckle and tongue on the same bracket that is installed correctly. This can be verified by the Seat Belt Recall drawings.
3. Determine if there is a seat belt bracket missing according to the Seat Belt Recall drawings.
4. If all brackets are installed in the correct locations and none are missing, skip to step 7. If there are brackets missing, continue to step 5.
5. If there is not a bracket in a location specified by the drawing, then a bracket needs to be installed. Install bracket part # 5077887 in location according to the drawing (Figure 4). Attach the bracket to the slide-out floor by pressing the bracket toward the main wall and inserting two 2โ x ยผโ screws through the holes in the top of the bracket. Then attach the bracket to the main wall by inserting four 2โ x ยผโ screws through the holes on the side of the bracket (Figure 5). Make sure no two brackets are closer than 6 inches apart
6. Secure the seat belt or seat belts to the seat belt bracket with a ยฝโ bolt. Torque bolt to 65 ft.-lbs.
7. If all brackets are correctly located, remove the ยฝโ bolt from the seat belt bracket which connects the incorrectly installed seat belt (Figure 6).
8. Remove the seat belt that is incorrectly installed.
9. Reinstall the ยฝโ bolt into the seat belt bracket and torque bolt to 65 ft.-lbs.
10. Check the Seat Belt Recall drawings to ensure the drawings match the current installation.
11. Reinstall any removed furniture.
