Summary
HME, Inc. (HME) is recalling one 2014 Ford
F-550 emergency vehicle. The on-board diagnostic system may not illuminate the malfunction indicator light (MIL) on the dashboard to alert the operator when certain faults are present in the vehicle’s emissions control system.
Remedy
Dealers will reprogram the PCM, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on April 25, 2022. Owners may contact HME’s customer service at 1-616-534-1463.

Chronology :
January 2022 – HME made internal changes regarding who handles NHSTA related items. At this time, HME reviewed Ford notification of Emission recall.
February 2022 – HME identified affected population related to Ford Emission Recall.
February 2022 – May 2022 – HME worked with NHSTA thru training to understand requirements related to Emission type Recall, including what’s required for an emission type recall.
May 2022 – HME uploaded draft owner notification letter to portal.
