Block any tires/wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Failure to do so may result in electrocution, fire or other personal injury, property damage and/or death. INSPECTION: STEP 1: OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE PASS-THROUGH STORAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR; STEP 2: LOCATE THE FURNACE ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE COMPARTMENT; STEP 3: IF THE FURNACE HAS A PANEL SEPARATING THE FURNACE FROM THE CARGO AREA, CLAIM THE INSPECTION CODE ONLY, CLEARING THE VEHICLE FROM THE RECALL. REMEDY: STEP 1: IF THE PANEL IS MISSING:  MEASURE FROM THE MAIN FLOOR DIRECTLY UP TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BATH DECK FLOOR;  MEASURE FROM THE INSIDE OF THE SIDEWALL INBOARD UNTIL THE MEASUREMENT IS SAFELY BEHIND THE FURNACE AND ANY WIRING, LPG LINES, WATER LINES, AND DUCTING;  MEASURE FROM THE REAR OF THE BATH DECK (FROM THE FURNACE TO THE WALL REARWARD WALL OF THE BATH DECK;  RECORD THESE DIMENSIONS, TWO PANELS WILL NEED TO BE CUT o THE FIRST PANEL IS GOING TO BE INSTALLED PERPENDICULAR FROM THE INSIDE OF THE SIDEWALL, JUST REARWARD OF THE BAGGAGE DOOR AND FORWARD OF THE FURNACE o THE SECOND PANEL IS GOING TO BE INSTALLED PARALLEL WITH THE VEHICLE. THIS PANEL IS TO BE LOCATED BEHIND THE FURNACE. THIS PANEL WILL MEET THE REAR OF THE BATH DECK WALL AND MAKE CONTACT WITH THE FIRST PANEL. o THESE PANELS WILL ISOLATE THE FURNACE FROM THE CARGO AREA. STEP 2: THE FIRST PANEL THAT WILL BE PERPENDICULAR WILL NEED A CLEAT ASSEMBLED TO IT ACROSS THE LENGTH OF THE “BOTTOM” AND THE LENGTH OF THE “TOP” AND ANOTHER CLEAT VERTICALLY TO SECURE IT TO THE SIDEWALL; STEP 3: THE SECOND PANEL THAT WILL BE PARALLEL WILL NEED A CLEAT ASSEMBLED TO IT ACROSS THE LENGTH OF THE “BOTTOM” AND THE LENGTH OF THE “TOP” AND ANOTHER CLEAT VERTICALLY TO SECURE IT TO THE BATH DECK WALL; STEP 4: USING 1 ½” SCREWS, ATTACH THE PANELS INTO THE CARGO AREA, ISOLATING THE FURNACE FROM THE AREA AND PROTECTING IT; STEP 5: CLAIM THE REPAIR CODE.

Dear Forest River Customer: This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. This notice is also sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Forest River – Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) has decided that a defect, which relates to the motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2021-2022 XLR Toy Hauler Recreational Vehicles. This is to inform you that your vehicle may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person. WHAT IS THE DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE? There is a missing wall panel that protects the furnace, furnace wiring, furnace LPG hookup and ducting from cargo inside the mid-deck section of the vehicle. EVALUATION OF THE RISK TO THE VEHICLE AND OPERATOR(S) RELATED TO THE RECALL. An owner may use the mid-deck pass-through cargo area to stow gear. Gear may unintentionally impact the furnace, wiring, LPG line. This condition may cause a wiring short, resulting in a fire. WHAT IS FOREST RIVER AND OUR DEALERSHIPS GOING TO DO? Forest River is notifying dealerships of the recall. You may have the recall corrected at any Forest River dealership. The missing wall panel will be installed. However, it is preferable if you have your selling dealership perform the remedy. Forest River completely covers your cost for the remedy; you will not receive any bill of sale for anything covered under the above recall number. WHAT SHOULD YOU DO? Please contact your dealer immediately and request a service appointment to schedule the free remedy. The vehicle Owner is responsible for arranging to have the work completed. Please state you have been notified by Forest River of having a recall in process for your vehicle and provide the recall number for the dealership.
