Subject: Large Panoramic 7.8″ Wide LCD Display – Software Update
PROBLEM
A limited quantity of the MY19 vehicles were produced with a MY18 version of the multifunction gauge software.
SOLUTION
1. Connect the vehicle to the BRP diagnostic software (BUDS2) and update the multifunction gauge with the software update 20.80 or higher.
NOTE: A RED lightning will appear to indicate that an update is available.
The multifunction gauge software will evolve continually.
It is very important to check for latest updates at PDI and at every maintenance or repair.

MPI-2 INTERFACE CARD (P/N 529 036 018)

MPI-3 INTERFACE CARD (P/N 529 036 353)
DIAGNOSTIC CABLE (P/N 710 000 851)
USB 2.0 or higher Cable (Type A Male to Type A Male) BRP (P/N 715900623) or equivalent available at electronic retail outlets. Do not exceed 2m (7 ft)
Update Procedure
Powering the Vehicle When Using BUDS2
NOTICE Make sure the unit’s battery is fully charged before undertaking this operation. Never use a battery charger to temporarily substitute the battery as it may cause the electronic modules to function erratically, or not at all. Continuous power to the computer is mandatory while performing this operation.

Updating the Cluster
NOTE: Both diagnostic cable and USB cable are required to do the update.
1. MPI Diagnostic Cable

NOTICE Failure to follow these instructions thoroughly will prevent the re-flash.
Before undertaking the procedure ensure you are logged on the administrator account of the computer.
1. Access the vehicle USB connector.
2. Connect the USB cable between the computer and the vehicle.
3. Connect the vehicle to the BRP diagnostic software (BUDS2) using the MPI DIAGNOSTIC CABLE.
4. Logon as administrator by doing a right click on the BUDS2 icon and select the RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR option.
5. Ensure that your BRP diagnostic software (BUDS2) was updated to version 18.11.2 or higher and have EDB Dump Version 19.5.1 or higher. If not, update BUDS2 before continuing the update procedure.
NOTE: This new BUDS2 version includes the new software update 20.80.
6. In BUDS2, select:
– Flash page
– Cluster button
– Flash tab.
The first time an update is done with a computer, 2 dialog boxes will appear.
7. Click YES on the first one, and OK on the second.
8. Select and run the multifunction gauge software update file in the VALID FIRMWARE UPDATES window.
9. Follow instructions shown in the screen.
Once the software update is completed, a message box will confirm that the operation was successful.
If an error message occurs, click OK and repeat the procedure.
10. Start the radio and wait until the audio is functional in the speakers.
11. Turn the ignition key off and let the cluster gauge shut down.
