Description of Defect :
Description of the Defect : Handle may not fit snugly onto the drive shaft due to tolerance issue. This can
cause the handle to strip the drive shaft and not turn the drive shaft when
cranked (turned).

Description of the Safety Risk : Winch may not draw boat (load) up onto the trailer or hold the winched boat
(load) in position when cranking (turning) the handle. This could cause injury
due to winch spool rotation when pawl is released.
Description of the Cause : Tolerance between the handle hole and the shaft it mounts to can create too
loose of a fit resulting in less than optimal engagement between the
components.
Identification of Any Warning
that can Occur :
Handle feels loose on the drive shaft or winch does not seem to draw the boat
(load) commensurate with the cranking of the handle.

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Remedy for Retail Customers: All products at retailers are on stop sale
and are to be returned to manufacturer or destroyed in field —
(manufacturer approval required for either)
Remedy for Consumers (End Users): Consumers are to cease use of the
trailer winch, contact bROK Products Customer Service Center at
1-800-637-0283 for further instructions or go to www.brokproducts.com,
click the link at the top right of the main home page. The link will take you
to a form to fill out with further instructions. After filling out the form,
consumers will be asked to mail a piece of the strapping as validation to
Brok Products. Replacement units will be sent out after validation. Any
costs incurred to remedy the issue before this recall notice can be
refunded by Brok Products pending validation and review.
How Remedy Component Differs
from Recalled Component :
Remedied component (shaft) has flat cut past the threaded portion of the
shaft. Recalled component (shaft) has flat cut only on the part of the shaft
that has threads and not pass threads.

Corrected in production from 01/01/2022 onward
