This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Reason for Notice
Custom Wheel House LLC has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Method Race Wheels MR316 wheels sold between November 1st 2021 to February 1st 2022.

Custom Wheel House LLC determined that defective wheels may experience cracking under extreme loads, i.e., vehicles with axle weights at or near the marked maximum load rating and using the maximum recommended tire diameter of 37 inches. This cracking is more likely to occur under extreme loads and may progress to the point of a wheel failure, which could lead to loss of vehicle control and increase risk of a crash. Custom Wheel House LLC will remedy the defect without charge and at no cost to the customer.
What Should You Do
Custom Wheel House LLC is recalling the subject wheels sold within the identified time frame. Upon receipt of this letter, you may immediately contact the dealer you purchased the wheels from to schedule replacement of the wheels. To ensure your safety and satisfaction with our product, we request that you return the recalled wheels and this letter to your dealer. Your wheels will be replaced with new wheels of same type and functionality.
Once contact has been made with your dealer, they will schedule a time to replace your wheels. The dealer will dismount the tires from your wheels. They will then install your tires on new
wheels. The estimated time for the replacement is approximately 1-2 hours, but the service facility may need your vehicle for a longer period if scheduling issues arise.

If wheels were replaced prior to notification of recall please contact Custom Wheel House at 866-779-8604 for information about how to be reimbursed for product and service.

If you are a vehicle lessor, Federal law requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this recall notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days of receiving the notification.

What Should You Do
Custom Wheel House LLC is recalling the subject wheels sold within the identified time frame. To ensure customer safety and satisfaction with our product, we request your assistance with customers’ return and replacement of the recalled wheels. Customers have been instructed to contact their dealer to schedule replacement of the subject wheels at no cost to them, including service. Custom Wheel House LLC will remedy the defect without charge and at no cost to the dealer as well. Replacement parts are currently available.
Custom Wheel House LLC also requests your assistance with the replacement procedures, including dismounting the tires from the customer’s wheels and installing the customer’s tires on new replacement wheels. We have advised customers that the estimated time for the replacement is approximately 1-2 hours.
Please be advised that it is a violation of Federal law for a dealer to deliver any new or used item of motor vehicle equipment covered by this notification under a sale or lease until this defect is remedied.

based on factory work record and product quality control markings identifying
casting date and casting lot number on the wheels.

Description of Defect :
Description of the Defect : Custom Wheel House LLC observed during a routine audit test that subject
wheels exhibited cracking in the spokes when subject to the cornering fatigue
test, conducted pursuant to SAE J2530. The wheel may experience cracking
under extreme loads, i.e. vehicles with axle weights at or near the marked
maximum load rating and using the maximum recommended tire diameter of
37 inches.

ratings, as described. While precise safety-related-risk cannot be quantified
with certainty there is risk of causing a vehicle crash, Custom Wheel House

and the factory notified that some parts from the first production order failed laboratory cornering fatigue
testing.
01/30/2022-02/08/2022: Factory shutdown for Chinese New Year
February 2022: Based on review of US laboratory failures and factory work record, the failures are observed to
only occur on wheels with 20C and 13B casting lots. Failures do not occur on wheels with any other casting lot
identifications.
March 2022: Custom Wheel House notifies dealers of wheels with possible issue to begin gathering customer
information.

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : At no cost to the customer, replace subject wheels and service to replace
them. If remedy was handled prior to recall owners can mail invoice to
Custom Wheel House or call 866-779-8604 for reimbursement.
How Remedy Component Differs
from Recalled Component :
Remedy components will have manufacture dates and casting lot numbers
that do not match the affected product. The replacement wheels will not
experience cracking of the spokes under the extreme loads described
previously.
Identify How/When Recall Condition
was Corrected in Production :
This was an isolated incident that involved an issue with a mold cooling
system and worker not following work instructions. Internal corrective
actions, including quarantining all affected inventory parts, have been
made at the manufacturing site to prevent re-occurrence.
Recall Schedule :
Description of Recall Schedule : Owners and dealers will be notified starting March 23, 2022, 5 business
days from the submission of this report as required per 577.5. To
facilitate the recall process, Custom Wheel House will perform enhanced
outreach to affected customers and dealers by direct phone and email
communications as follow-up and as necessary.
