The burner control valve, mated directly to the control knob via the valve stem, may leak gas. This gas will leak directly into the recessed portion of the cooktop, where the knobs and ignitor are located, and may be ignited by the active burner(s). The ignition will result in a small pilot flame directly at the control knob. The Risk: There is an increased risk of injury and fire. The remedy for an affected unit will be a complete replacement of the cooktop. The Dometic Authorized Service Center will install the remedy for you. SPECIFICALLY, THE BURNER CONTROL VALVES MAY BECOME DAMAGED, CAUSING A GAS LEAK. ON MAY 25 /2022 TRIPLE E RECEIVED PURCHASING RECORDS FROM DOMETIC AND BEGAN RESEARCHING TO DETERMINE WHICH VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED. ON JUNE 2 /2022, DETERMINED WHICH VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED AND PLAN TO PROCEED TO NOTIFY RETAIL OWNERS. THE RETAIL OWNER WILL BE ISSUED A CARD TO BE FILLED OUT AND RETURNED TO RECEIVE A REPLACEMENT UNIT. DOMETIC CORPORATION IS SUPPLYING THIS RECALL REMEDY AT NO CHARGE. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : THE REMEDY COOKTOPS WILL HAVE A SERIAL # NOT IN THE RECALLED POPULATION AND NOT HAVE THE DEFECTIVE BURNER CONTROL VALVE. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : PER DOMETIC RECALL 22E021, BURNER CONTROL VALVES FROM SUPPLIER ARE NO LONGER IN USE AT THE MANFACTURING SITE. THE SUPPLIER ONLY PROVIDED A LIMITED PRODUCTION RUN BECAUSE OF PRODUCTION VOLUME CHALLENGES. THE FACTORY CORRECTIVE ACTION WAS PUT IN PLACE ON OR ABOUT THE TIME OF THE POTENTIAL DEFECT NOTIFICATION TO NHTSA.
