Screws for Awning Lateral Arm Brackets may Fail
The screws could fail, causing the supporting bracket to fail, and the awning to fall and potentially strike and injure a person beneath it.
Summary
Entegra Coach (Entegra) is recalling certain model year 2015 Aspire motorhomes manufactured July 14, 2014, to October 29, 2014, and equipped with certain Latitude awnings manufactured by Carefree of Colorado. The affected awnings may have screws that attach the lateral arm brackets to the mounting brackets that were not manufactured to specification.
Remedy
Entegra will notify owners, and dealers will remove and replace the defective screws, free of charge. The recall began December 30, 2014. Owners may contact Entegra customer service at 1-800-945-4787.

Dear Entegra Dealer
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Highway Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Carefree of Colorado has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may exist with certain Carefree of Colorado Latitude Awning mounting screws. Latitude Awnings manufactured between April 10, 2014 and November 4, 2014 have mounting screws that may not meet specifications and may therefore be more likely to break off. If the screws break, it could affect a support arm for the awning.
The vehicle, identified on the enclosed form, is potentially affected. For this reason, we ask that you immediately evaluate whether you have an affected unit so the condition can be corrected without delay. The parts as described in this letter will be provided at no charge to you.
To correct this condition, check the serial number and verify if the Carefree Latitude Awning installed on your RV is included in the recall. If so, replace the suspect component (mounting screws) with new parts. The actual repair work should take an hour to complete.

Federal law requires that all units in your inventory be repaired prior to delivery to a customer. If you have sold a unit recently that you have received a stock recall notice on, please contact the owner immediately to advise of the recall. In addition, please register the unit by submitting the Warranty Registration information .
