Step 2 – Remove Seat Cushion Remove the Sofa seat cushion by removing the ½” nuts from under rear of the sofa cushion. Then slide the power sofa forward with the touch screen controls and remove the front sofa cushion bolts using a #2 Robertson screwdriver and a 7/16” wrench. Remove the black plastic cover panel over top of the DCD. This will give you access to the DCF4. Place M10x1.5mm hex nut on stud over the new black wire ring terminal and torque nut to 30 in-lb. Step 7 – Disconnect Fridge Power and Rocker Switch Wires from DCF4 Disconnect the fridge power wire (yellow wire with female spade connector), from the male connector on the DCF4 board. Step 8 – Connect Red Relay Harness Wire (with male spade terminal) to Fridge Power Wire Connect the yellow Fridge Power Wire with female spade connector (removed from the DCF4 in Step 7) to the male spade on the red wire of the new relay harness. This is the new 12 Volt DC fridge power input. Step 9 – Connect Orange Wire (cut from DCF4 in Step 7) to Wago connector of new Relay Harness Strip 3/8” (10mm) of insulation from the end of the orange wire that was cut from the DCF4 in Step 7 and connect it into the WAGO connector (preinstalled on the orange wire of the new relay harness). Reason for this recall The DCF 4 Circuit board labeled for 30A Max fuse holders were equipped with fuse pins rated at a max of 20A continuous load. The DCF4 circuit board is dedicated to the fridge operation. The Fridge in the Plateau TS when operating in the DC mode can draw up to 20A continuously which can result in the 30A fridge fuse, fuse pins and fridge wire to overheat. If the 30A fuse, fuse pins, and fridge wire do overheat it could create a thermal incident. This may cause a fire and could result in property damage, personal injury, or death. Recall Remedy Remove the fridge wiring and fridge fuse from the DCF4 circuit board, install a dedicated 30A fused relay for the fridge operating directly from the switched DC power source. Label the DCF4 circuit board; “Max 20A Fuse Do Not Add Extra Fuses”. The repair will be completed at NO CHARGE to you. The dealer or repair facility of your choice will contact Spyder Controls Corp. for payment per the instructions provided with the 30 A Fused relay. This installation should take 1.0 hrs to complete. A second DCF4 board failed at the end of May 2022, the failure was internal to the board no visible signs of heating. There were no reports of failures in June for the DCF4 board. July 14, 2022 was the next report of the DCF4 failure with evidence of heating. This board was replaced with a new DCF4 board and the damaged board was requested to be returned to Spyder Controls for analysis. Two other boards had been reported to Pleasure-Way and Spyder controls over the last two week period in July. Pleasure-Way and Spyder controls began testing of the DCF 4 boards. It was determined that the DC fuse holder pins were rated for 20 amp continuous power supply with the fuse location rated at 30 amps. A decision was made to recall all 2021.5 – 2022 Plateau TS vehicles and remove the fridge from the DCF 4 board and place it on a designated relay. They will be reimbursed through the Pleasure-Way warranty system once they have submitted the repair receipt.
