IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL
Braun Recall Notice: TBD September 29, 2022
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Braun Industries has decided that a safety related defect may exist with some rear door top striker bolts. Braun striker pin part number 97136 may under certain conditions become loose and dislodge from the vehicle while in service.
In the affected vehicles, loose pins may result in the top of the rear doors not latching or unlatching. This can result in the door not staying closed or not able to be opened during vehicle operation. The door may not be fully latched increasing the likelihood of the door inadvertently opening in the event of a crash. Some pins may not present an issue at initial review, but nevertheless should be inspected and if necessary remedied. You are receiving this notice because Braun records indicate you may have received shipments of affected units.
Braun will remedy the affected units free of charge by replacing Braun striker pin 97136 with Braun striker pin 97259. Replacement pins are available as of October 3rd, 2022. Replacement is done by removing the affected pins and inspecting for obstructions in the area where the pin fastens and replacing the pin. Labor reimbursement for the inspection and repair for each ambulance replacement is 30 minutes. The replacement pins will be properly torqued and marked upon installation.
