Summary
Orange EV (OEV) is recalling certain 2022 e-Triever vehicles. The fastener for the parking brake slack adjustor may not have been properly tightened.
Remedy
OEV Service will tighten or replace the fastener, free of charge. All affected vehicles were remedied by December 19, 2022. Owners may contact OEV customer service at 1-866-688-5223.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Chronology :
August 2022 customer reported parking brake not holding.
Multiple rounds of adjustments and additional not holding reports resulted in replacement of slack adjusters which also loosened.
On 10/5 we discovered that the anchor stud was missing a nut and allowing the anchor pin to float freely.
Correction of this issue on 10/5 resulted in slack adjuster setting holding as expected.
More installed trucks in the field were evaluated (and the nuts torqued) to determine if this was a unique, owner created issue. The discovery of more affected trucks resulted in a determination that the issue needed official corrective action.
All corrective action was performed at no cost to customer
