Summary
Chinook Motor Coach, LLC (Chinook) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Bayside motorhomes. The service valves on the LPG tanks may be improperly connected, which can cause a propane leak.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the service valves, as necessary, free of charge. Dealers were notified December 2, 2022. Owners may contact Chinook customer service at 1-574-584-3756.

Chinook RV has received a recall notice from Manchester Tank regarding the Rego service valves. A small number of these valves on the recreational vehicle tanks have some short threads in the POL outlets. This may resu lt in a leak at the connection. You have received the following units that are under this recal l. Please see the included recall letter from Manchester Tank for more information.
Chronology :
June 27, 2022: RegO advised Manchester Tank about a potential issue with the female POL threads on a limited number of RegO service valves. The service valves may not meet specification, which may result in a leak at the connection.
June 29, 2022: Manchester Tank forwarded the RegO Field Advisory to its RV customers.
Sept. 23, 2022: Manchester Tank determined to submit a defect information report to NHTSA for issuing a recall.
November 2, 2022: Chinook Motor Coach received the recall issued by Manchester Tank.
Nov. 3, 2022 – Nov. 30, 2022: Chinook Motor Coach reviewed its records to determine the motorhomes affected by the received Manchester Tank recall.
December 1, 2022: Chinook Motor Coach submitted Part 573 Defect and Noncompliance Report to NHTSA.
Chinook Motor Coach contacted Manchester Tank Service Department about our next course of action. It was stated to contact dealers and retail customers, if sold, to have the valves tested on the motorhomes affected by this recall.
December 2, 2022: Chinook Motor Coach mailed out letters to the dealers who have the affected motorhomes.
