Repair, Claim Preparation, and Filing Instructions
Please submit a warranty claim pre-authorization using the following codes and labor times:
LABOR: OPERATION CODE LABOR ALLOWANCE Inspection only: 44012000 0.10
Remove and Replace: 44012001 0.20

Repair Instructions:
MICRO MINNIE SPARE TIRE CARRIER
Tools Needed: Torque wrench, Impact gun, 9/16” socket, 13/16” socket.
REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS:
Using the impact gun and 13/16” socket, remove nuts from spare tire and set tire aside. Remove the tire
carrier bolts that attach it to the bumper with 9/16” socket and discard old parts.
Hold the new tire carrier into place and attach the U-bolts around the bumper and into the holes on the
carrier.
Thread the U-bolt nuts onto the bolts enough to prevent the carrier from slipping but also so the carrier
can still slide on the bumper.
Place spare tire onto the new carrier so that the upper lug goes through the hole and the lower one goes
through the center of the rim.
Thread the tire nuts onto these bolts. Using the torque wrench, tighten the nuts to 80-90 ft-lbs.
Adjust carrier location as to not block taillights or license plate.
Once location is set, tighten the U-bolt nuts to 50 ft-lbs.

This notice is being sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Winnebago Towables has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on certain 2021 through 2023 Winnebago Micro Minnie model series. These vehicles were manufactured August 20, 2020, through April 10, 2023. REASON FOR THIS RECALL When loaded with certain off-road style tires, the bumper mounted spare tire carrier has the potential to experience metal fatigue, which could cause welds to break loose and/or shear the metal. The spare tire carrier may fail over time and potentially become detached from the unit in transit, which could increase the risk of a crash. WHAT WE WILL DO On affected vehicles, Winnebago Towable dealers will replace the original spare tire carrier with a newly designed spare tire carrier. The time necessary to complete the repair will be approximately 20 minutes. Please allow additional time for the dealer to process your vehicle. This will be done at no charge to you. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO Please contact your selling or nearest Winnebago Towable dealer immediately to schedule an appointment. To locate the nearest Winnebago Towable dealer, you can visit our website at www.winnebago.com or call 574-825-5250. Winnebago Towable dealers are best equipped to obtain parts and provide service to ensure your vehicle is corrected as promptly as possible. Description of the Cause : The tire hoop on the spare tire bracket being too long causes additional vibrations throughout the carrier. The tire suspended past the vertical tube would make the entire assembly vibrate and put strain on the vertical tube and supporting welds. Identification of Any Warning

In March, a VOQ inquiry from NHTSA stated a customer had experienced a failure on their bumper mounted spare tire carrier. An investigation was subsequently opened. Winnebago identified a total of 21 spare tire carrier mount issues, with 12 of those issue resulting in total detachment. The first known issue occurred in September, 2020. There are no known accidents or injuries related to this issue. After completing a data analysis and technical investigation, the Product Safety Committee met on 4/10/2023 to review the findings of the investigation and determined that a defect related to motor vehicle safety was present. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Reimbursement request will fall under the general reimbursement plan on
file with NHTSA. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : Winnebago is designing and testing a new spare tire carrier with the tire hoop sized appropriately to allow the tire to rest on the vertical tube to reduce the vibrations throughout the assembly and to fully brace the tire hoop to increase structural strength.
