A loose traction motor can separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
SEA Electric LLC (SEA Electric) is recalling certain SEA Drive SD120A battery electric drivetrain conversion kits for Hino model 195 vehicles. Vibration may cause the traction motor mount to crack, destabilizing the traction motor.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the traction motor mounts, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 5, 2023. Owners may contact SEA-Electric customer service at 1-833-732-3532.

Chronology :
In or about early May 2023, SEA-Electric received a report of a traction motor mount failure. The company immediately initiated an investigation to inspect the failed part, as well as other units in the field. Based upon the results of its investigation, SEA-Electric makes this report in an abundance of caution.

SEA-Electric will reimburse owners who paid for a remedy to correct the recall issue prior to SEA-Electric’s filing of this Part 573 report, in the amount of the cost of parts for the remedy, plus associated labor at local labor rates, miscellaneous fees, and taxes.
