Summary
Autocar, LLC. (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 DC (Legend) vehicles. The steering column shaft may not have been properly welded.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the steering column shaft, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 4, 2023. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar’s number for this recall is DC-2304.

May 18, 2023, Autocar was contacted by JTEKT
and informed of potential lot numbers B123424 to B123427 containing 19 defective steering column shafts. May 23, 2023, Autocar begins an internal investigation and efforts to identify the location of the suspect parts lot. June 8, 2023, Autocar identified 39 potential units manufactured within the suspect date range and the suspect part numbers. A stop ship was issued, and a clean point established for production. Out of an abundance of caution Autocar decided to perform a voluntary Safety Recall. We have no known claims reports or complaints.

Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Autocar will voluntarily initiate an owner notification and recall of all affected vehicles. Autocar will distribute to owners of affected vehicles an Owner Notification Letter, which will describe the defect and provide instructions for scheduling the inspection/repair of the vehicle at no cost to the vehicle’s owner.
