Summary
Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2023 ACX (Xpeditor) and DC (Legend) vehicles. The powertrain driveline center support bearing hardware may not have been properly secured.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and secure or replace the powertrain driveline support bearing hardware, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 6, 2023. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar’s number for this recall is ACX-2309 DC-2305.

June 30, 2023, during an internal inspection, Autocar personnel identified loose drive line center support bearing hardware and an investigation began. July 7, 2023, through July 11, 2023, 162 in-house units were inspected, 26 defects were identified and corrected. August 3, 2023, the information was presented to Autocar management team and out of an abundance of caution Autocar decided to perform a voluntary safety recall for all suspect units.

Autocar will distribute to owners of affected vehicles an Owner Notification Letter, which will describe the defect and provide instructions for scheduling the inspection/repair of the vehicle at no cost to the vehicle’s owner. The owner letter will instruct vehicle owners who have paid to have this condition remedied prior to this campaign to seek reimbursement pursuant to Autocar’s General Reimbursement Plan, on file with the agency pursuant to 49 C.F.R. 573.6(c)(8)(i) and 49 C.F.R 573.13.
