) is recalling certain 2022 Della Terra Travel Trailers and Silver Lake travel trailers. The sidewall extrusion may not have been properly installed, which can cause the aluminum siding to detach.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the sidewall metal as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 11, 2023. Owners may contact Forest River

INSPECTION:
STEP 1: CHECK CURB AND ROAD SIDEWALL METAL FOR SIGNS OF DETACHMENT;
- LOOK AT THE SIDEWALL METAL TO CHECK IF IT IS NOT UNDER THE FRONT EXTRUSION;
- IF THE CONDITION(S) ARE NOT PRESENT, CLAIM THE INSPECTION ONLY;
- IF THE CONDITION(S) ARE PRESENT, PHOTOGRAPH FAILURE LOCATION(S) AND SUBMIT AND ORDER METAL.
REMEDY:
STEP 1: CUT THE SILICON SEALANT ALONG THE FRONT WALL/SIDEWALL EXTRUSION;
STEP 2: REMOVE FRONT WALL EXTRUSION;
- KEEP ALL FASTENERS AND EXTRUSION FOR RE-USE;
- REMOVE FOAM SEAL ON THAT APPLIES TO THE SIDEWALL METAL SIDING;
- BE SURE TO LEAVE THE FOAM SEAL THAT IS UNDER THE SCREW TRACK OF THE EXTRUSION;
STEP 3: REMOVE AFFECTED SIDEWALL METAL PIECES;
STEP 4: ENSURE TO ENGAGE THE “S LOCK” ON THE METAL;
WARNING: FAILURE TO ENSURE COMPLETE ENGAGEMENT OF THE “S LOCK” MAY ALLOW WATER INGRESS. ANY DAMAGE(S) TO THE VEHICLE AS A RESULT MAY NOT BE COVERED.
STEP 5: ENSURE TO SECURE THE SIDEWALL METAL SECURELY TO THE VEHICLE;
STEP 6: ROUTE/CUT OFF THE METAL USING THE FRONT WALL AS A TEMPLATE;
STEP 7: ROUTE/CUT THE SIDEWALL METAL FLUSH WITH THE FRONT WALL PROFILE;
WARNING: DO NOT DAMAGE THE FRONT WALL METAL/SKIN. DAMAGE TO THE FRONT WALL METAL/SKIN MAY NOT BE COVERED.
STEP 8: REINSTALL FRONT EXTRUSION;
- APPLY BUTYL TAPE TO THE LEG OF THE EXTRUSION THAT MATES TO THE SIDEWALL METAL;
- BEGIN AT THE TOP/ROOF-LINE OF THE VEHICLE AND FILL THE PRIOR SCREW HOLES WITH SILICONE;
- FRONT TOP/ROOF-LINE OF THE VEHICLE, REINSTALL THE FRONT EXTRUSION USING THE PRIOR SCREW HOLES THAT ARE NOW FILLED WITH SILICONE (ENSURE SILICONE IS STILL PLIABLE);
STEP 9: CAP SEAL THE EXTRUSION ON THE FRONT WALL AND SIDEWALL;
STEP 10: REINSERT THE PLASTIC SCREW COVER (IF PRESENT);
STEP 11: CLAIM REPAIR CODE.
Chronology :
On April 10, 2023, Forest Rivers Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) received VOQ: 11515118 from NHTSA.
OCC provided the manufacturing plant with a copy of the VOQ.
On June 27, 2023, OCC received an inquiry from NHTSA regarding the same VOQ. OCC was asked if there had been any other similar failures. OCC opened a research item into the concern.
On July 18, 2023, OCC communicated with NHTSA that OCC was still reviewing data.
Between dates July 19, 2023, through August 3, 2023, OCC shared initial information with NHTSA, however OCC’s research was incomplete.
On August 28, 2023, OCC met with the manufacturing plant to review data.
On September 1, 2023, Forest Rivers Corporate Recall Committee voted to recall.

filed and amendment to include the number of claims received.
Between August 2021 and April of 2022, 46 claims were received.
