Production Dates : MAY 20, 2022 – MAY 20, 2022 Description of Noncompliance : Description of the Noncompliance : The subject unit was manufactured and shipped without the warning label required pursuant to FMVSS 213, S5.5 FMVSS 1 : 213 – Child restraint systems FMVSS 2 : NR Description of the Safety Risk : A consumer using the product would not have immediate access to the information required to be included on the label. Description of the Cause : Error in the manufacturing process (both with respect to application of the label and inspection for its presence). Identification of Any Warning that can Occur : The absence of the label is readily visible. September 12, 2023 – Report received indicating that the relevant car seat did not have the appropriate warning label. October 30. 2023 – The car seat, having been retrieved, was inspected. The absence of a warning label was confirmed. No adhesive residue was apparent. On that basis, it was concluded that no label was affixed during the manufacturing process and, accordingly, the unit as shipped was noncompliant. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : The affected unit was retrieved for inspection and is in the possession the manufacturer. There is no (current) field population requiring remedy. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Not applicable Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : Evenflo has no indication that other units produced in the relevant time frame exhibited the non-compliance, which reflected an individual production error. However, coincidentally (i.e., unrelated to this incident), production processes starting on May 23, 2023 were updated to include 100% inspection for the label. On November 11, 2022 the production process was further improved to include automated QR Code scanning for the presence of the label.
