The correct Federal Certification Label identifies the tires as being ST205/75R14C with 3850 pounds GVWR at 60 PSI. (“Gulfstream”) do not conform to 49 CFR Part 567 – Certification and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 – “Tire Selection.” On the vehicles subject to this recall, the Federal Certification Label may contain incorrect tire size and tire pressure information. Gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) remains the same. FMVSS 1 : 567 – Certification FMVSS 2 : NR Part 573 Safety Recall Report 23V-742 Page 2 The information contained in this report was submitted pursuant to 49 CFR §573 Description of the Safety Risk : If the original label applied is incorrect there is a potential for improper inflation of the current tires. There is a potential risk of over inflation which could result in reduced traction and performance of the tires as well as cause uneven tire wear potentially resulting in poor handling and an increased risk of crash. Description of the Cause : Through a product change, the information was not updated correctly resulting in incorrect tire size and tire pressure information being made available for printing the correct Federal Certification Labels originally installed. Once identified, immediate containment of finished units on hand with incorrect Federal Certification Label information were segregated and labeled with DO NOT SHIP stickers until such time as replacement Federal Certification Labels with correct information were applied, audited and released for shipment. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component : Incorrect Federal Certification Labels identify the tires as being ST205/75R14D with 3850 pounds GVWR at 75 PSI. The correct Federal Certification Label identify the tires as being ST205/75R14C with 3850 pounds GVWR at 60 PSI. Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : Replacement Federal Certification Labels with correct information were created and applied.
