Summary
Grand Design RV
, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2024 Reflection travel trailers. The electrical plug blade openings (narrow hot blade and wider neutral blade) may be reversed on one of the two receptacle outlet faces, which can cause outlet failure.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the incorrect receptacles, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 5, 2024. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design’s number for this recall is 910041.

On or around 11/14/2023, Grand Design was made aware of the voluntary safety recall initiated by the product manufacturer. Grand Design with the assistance of Dave Carter & Associates representatives determined no affected parts are being used in active production and no affected products are present in our stock.
11/15/23, Grand Design determined scope of affected units and initiated process for field action.
Grand Design is not aware of any incidents or injuries as a result of this issue.

Descriptive Information : The recall population was determined from purchase orders provided by Hubbell
Wirecon, the product supplier. Purchase orders were matched with production units
to accurately determine the population. The recalled product has a defect not present
in units outside of the population. There are 1012 affected, 2024 Grand Design,
Reflection travel trailers and fifth wheels.

Description of Defect :
Description of the Defect : The hot and neutral plug blade opening on one of the two receptacle outlet
faces are reversed.

Description of the Safety Risk : If a 2-pole polarized plug (narrow hot blade & wider neutral blade) with no
ground pin is inserted into the affected product, it may lead to an electrical
short, with the potential to cause product failure, property damage and an
increased risk of fire or injury. Grand Design has no damage, injuries or
deaths related to this concern.
Description of the Cause : Electrical receptacles produced by Hubbell Wirecon have the “HOT” and
“Neutral” plug blade openings on one of the two receptacle outlet faces,
reversed.

Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : Grand Design, as the Final Stage Manufacturer, will release a Recall Notice
(immediately following NHTSA assignment of a recall number) to all Grand
Design dealers and registered owners. Owners will be instructed to take
their vehicle to the nearest Grand Design dealer to have their receptacles
replaced at no charge. Owner’s that have paid to have this service
performed will be reimbursed by Grand Design for any expenses incurred
relating to the defect.
How Remedy Component Differs
from Recalled Component :
The hot and neutral blade on the replacement receptacles are located in
the correct orientation.

was Corrected in Production :
Remaining faulty components were removed from production and
replaced with supplier corrected recepts.

Description of Recall Schedule : Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by First Class mail that their
vehicle is affected by this recall. In addition we will post recall
information electrically for consumer access. Dealer will be notified of the
recall action (by First Class mail & electronically) and will be supplied
with repair information and vehicle identification information.
