Cab Mirror Assembly May Detach
A detached mirror glass can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

PACCAR
Incorporated (PACCAR
) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Peterbilt
535, 536, 537, 548, and Kenworth
T180, T280, T380, T480 trucks. The glass lock ring on the cab mirror assembly may not be fully seated, allowing the mirror glass to detach.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the mirror glass lock ring and repair it as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 15, 2024. Owners may contact Kenworth
customer service at 1-425-828-5888 and/or Peterbilt
customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR
’s numbers for this recall are 24KWA and 24PBA.

08/16/23 – 9/22/23 – Safety & Compliance initiated investigation
09/25/23 – Joint Safety Committee reviewed investigation and requested follow-up information.
10/10/23 – Reliability group completed Weibull Analysis.
10/11/23 –Safety & Compliance continued investigation.
11/02/23 – Joint Safety Committee met and requested input from supplier.
11/14/23 –12/18/23 – Multiple meetings with supplier. Root cause determined.
01/12/24 – Joint Safety Committee determined that a safety related defect does exist.
As of 01/12/24, Paccar
received 181 warranty claims and 12 reports about 12 trucks in the field that may be related. 0 reports of deaths or injuries have been received.

will notify owners, and dealers will verify the mirror glass lock
ring is fully seated free of charge. Owners who incurred costs to obtain a remedy for the problem addressed in the recall in advance of receiving notification may seek reimbursement through the process outlined in the general reimbursement plan on file. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production : Trucks that have been remedied will have a fully seated mirror glass lock ring.
All mirror assemblies on and off trucks at the plant were checked for a fully seated lock ring. Clean point is July 28, 2023. Mirror glass lock ring was added to quality checks done at the plant. Supplier is reviewing design change for long term solution. Recall Schedule :
