) is recalling certain 2024 IBEX and No Boundaries travel trailers. The recessed space heaters may have been installed too close to the ceiling.
Remedy
Dealers will reinstall the heaters, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 15, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements Motor Vehicle Safety Act. This notice is also sent in accordance with the requirements of the United States’ National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Forest River
has decided that a defect, which relates to the motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2024 IBEX and NOBO Travel Trailer Recreational Vehicles. This is to inform you that your vehicle may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person.
WHAT IS THE DEFECT?
The Cadet Heater(s) may have been installed too close to the ceiling, which is out of compliance with the Cadet Heater installation instruction tag on the heater.
EVALUATION OF THE RISK TO THE VEHICLE AND OPERATOR(S) RELATED TO THE RECALL.
The heater may cause a fire, leading to property damage.
WHAT IS FOREST RIVER
AND OUR DEALERSHIPS GOING TO DO?
Forest River
is notifying dealerships of the recall. You may have the recall corrected at any Forest River
dealership. However, it is preferable if you have your selling dealership perform the remedy. Forest River
completely covers your cost for the remedy; you will not receive any bill of sale for anything covered under the above recall number.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
Please contact your dealer immediately and request a service appointment to schedule the free remedy. The Cadet heater will be installed lower in accordance with the vertical clearance listed on the heaters’ wall mounted box. The vehicle Owner is responsible for arranging to have the work completed. Please state you have been notified by Forest River
of having a recall in process for your vehicle and provide the recall number for the dealership. It is also helpful to the dealership to have a copy of this letter when you take your vehicle in for the recall remedy. You may also visit www.forestriverinc.com for dealer locations.
HOW LONG WILL THE REMEDY PROCESS TAKE?
The estimated time of repair is 3.0 hours. However, the dealership may need to keep your vehicle or schedule an appointment with you for a later date to fit into their regular service schedule.
WHAT IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY PAID FOR REPAIRS TO YOUR VEHICLE FOR THIS PARTICULAR CONDITION?
If you have already paid for a repair that is within the scope of this defect under recall, you still need to have this recall inspected and/or performed to ensure the correct parts and procedures were utilized.

Concern:
The Cadet Heater(s) may have been installed to close to the ceiling, which may damage the ceiling panel(s).
Turn off LP Gas at LPG Tank(s). Disconnect the vehicles’ battery Positive and Negative, disconnect any House battery(s) Positive and Negative, if equipped with a generator ensure it is off and lastly, ensure the vehicle is disconnected from shore power. Block any tires/wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Failure to do so may result in electrocution, fire or other personal injury, property damage and/or death.
BATHROOM CABINET REMEDY:
STEP 1: DISCONNECT POWER TO THE CADET HEATER;
STEP 2: REMOVE 14 ½” BY 45” CABINET DOOR;
STEP 3: REMOVE THE CADET HEATER;
STEP 4: REMOVE THE 4” X 10” STYLE;
STEP 5: LOOSEN THE SHELF BY TAKING OUT SCREWS ALONG THE FRONT WALL AND THE SIDEWALL;
- CONTINUE TO CUT OFF THE SHELF BY REMAINING 2 SIDES USE A BUZZ SAW OR OSCILLATING TOOL TO AIDE IN CUTTING THE STAPLES/FASTENERS;
- THE SHELF SHOULD NOW DROP TO THE NEXT SHELF WITHIN THE CABINET;
STEP 6: MOVE THE EXISTING 2” X 12” STYLE DOWN TO 22” FROM THE CEILING TO THE TOP SIDE OF THE STYLE AND REATTACH;
- IT MAY BE NECASSORY TO EXTEND THE 120V WIRING USING A JUNCTION BOX AND THE APPROPRIATE GAUGE WIRE;
STEP 7: SECURE THE PROVIDED FACE FRONT OVER THE TOP OF THE EXISTING FACE FRONT USING SCREWS COMING IN THROUGH THE BACK SIDE;
STEP 8: REINSTALL CADET HEATER IN THE NOW LOWER OPENING;
STEP 9: SLIDE SHELF UP AND RESECURE TO ALL SIDES;
STEP 10: REINSTALL THE NEW PROVIDED CAB DOOR 14 1/2” BY 37 1/2”
BEDROOM CABINET REMEDY:
STEP 1: DISCONNECT POWER TO CADET HEATER
STEP 2: REMOVE THE CADET HEATER ;
STEP 3: REMOVE THE 4” X 10” STYLE;
STEP 4: REMOVE BOTH RECEPTACLES AND USB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CABINET;
- REMOVE THE PANEL THAT HAD THE RECEPTACLES AND USB
STEP 5: REATTACH THE NOW REMOVED RECEPTACLES USING PROVIDED BLANK RECEPTACLES;
STEP 6: SECURE BLANK RECEPTACLES BACK AND TOWARDS THE RIGHT SIDE IN THE OPENING;
STEP 7: EXTEND WIRE FROM CEILING TO THE MIDDLE OF THE CABINET USING PROVIDED BLANK RECEPTACLES AND WIRING;
STEP 8: ADD PROVIDED BACKING FOR THE SURFACE MOUNT BOX WITHIN THE OPENING;
STEP 9: ADD 1 3/8” STYLE TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE NEWLY MADE OPENING;
STEP 10: INSTALL THE SURFACE MOUNT CAN;
STEP 11: REINSTALL THE CADET HEATER;
STEP 12: INSTALL PROVIDED FACE FRAME ACCESS STYLE TO THE OLD HEATER LOCATION AT THE TOP OF THE FACE FRAME;
STEP 13: TEST FUNCTIONALITY OF CADET HEATERS;
Chronology :
On February 9, 2024, the manufacturing plant received a single complaint from a dealer, in which the ceiling started discoloring above the Cadet Heater.
On February 16, 2024, the manufacturing plant met with the supplier of the Cadet Heater and had a review of the installation. The manufacturers’ installation instructions appear to indicate how much clearance above the Cadet Heater is required. The installation instructions appear to only provide the minimum clearances required from the bottom, left, and right of the Cadet Heater. After looking at the physical component, the manufacturing plant located a sticker on the back of the Cadet Heater which dictates the required vertical clearance above the heater. The same day, the manufacturing plant notified Forest River
’s Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) of the concern.
On February 19, 2024, OCC opened a research item into the concern.
On February 23, 2024, Forest River
’s Corporate Recall Committee voted to recall. A Stop Sale Notice is being issued immediately following the filing of this recall

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements Motor Vehicle Safety Act. This notice is also sent in accordance with the requirements of the United States’ National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Forest River
has decided that a defect, which relates to the motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2024 IBEX and NOBO Travel Trailer Recreational Vehicles. This is to inform you that your vehicle may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person.
WHAT IS THE DEFECT?
The Cadet Heater(s) may have been installed too close to the ceiling, which is out of compliance with the Cadet Heater installation instruction tag on the heater.
EVALUATION OF THE RISK TO THE VEHICLE AND OPERATOR(S) RELATED TO THE RECALL.
The heater may cause a fire, leading to property damage.

Forest River
is notifying dealerships of the recall. You may have the recall corrected at any Forest River
dealership. However, it is preferable if you have your selling dealership perform the remedy. Forest River
completely covers your cost for the remedy; you will not receive any bill of sale for anything covered under the above recall number.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
Please contact your dealer immediately and request a service appointment to schedule the free remedy. The Cadet heater will be installed lower in accordance with the vertical clearance listed on the heaters’ wall mounted box. The vehicle Owner is responsible for arranging to have the work completed. Please state you have been notified by Forest River
of having a recall in process for your vehicle and provide the recall number for the dealership. It is also helpful to the dealership to have a copy of this letter when you take your vehicle in for the recall remedy. You may also visit www.forestriverinc.com for dealer locations.
HOW LONG WILL THE REMEDY PROCESS TAKE?
The estimated time of repair is 3.0 hours. However, the dealership may need to keep your vehicle or schedule an appointment with you for a later date to fit into their regular service schedule.
WHAT IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY PAID FOR REPAIRS TO YOUR VEHICLE FOR THIS PARTICULAR CONDITION?
If you have already paid for a repair that is within the scope of this defect under recall, you still need to have this recall inspected and/or performed to ensure the correct parts and procedures were utilized.
Additionally, you may be eligible for a refund of previously paid repairs. Refunds will only be provided for within the scope of this defect under recall.

The Recall shall be considered the utmost priority to remedy the 2024 IBEX and NOBO Travel Trailer in question. The retail consumer shall not be charged any amount of monies for remedy to their 2024 IBEX and NOBO Travel Trailer listed under this Recall.
If your dealership has already performed the remedy to 2024 IBEX and NOBO Travel Trailer, your dealership is entitled to the reimbursement as stated above by filing a claim using the indicated repair code(s). If the remedy needs to be performed on an out of warranty 2024 IBEX and NOBO Travel Trailer in which the VIN falls under as stated in the identified VIN listing, your dealership is entitled to the reimbursement as stated above by filing a claim using the indicated repair code(s).
